The Anaheim Family Justice Center is a safe, confidential and friendly place where assistance is provided to Survivors of Domestic Violence, Child Abuse, Sexual Assault and Elder/Dependent Adult Abuse.
The Anaheim Family Justice Center works together to make a difference by restoring hope through the fierce dedication of trained advocates, on-site partner and support staff.
Because of this mission, I have invited author, Mike Simonsen and his partner, Officer Byrd to share their story to teach children to not keep secrets and to speak up. Officer Byrd will be performing some of his favorite tricks like riding a bicycle, scooter and skateboard.
I met Mike Simonsen because when I was selecting a printer for Dino Manners, a nice lady in China sent me samples of her work. One of the sample books was, “The Adventures of Officer Byrd.” My children loved the message and how Byrd helped to save a little girl from a scary neighbor. When the idea for this event in Anaheim came up, I immediately thought of Mike and Byrd and called them. Mike couldn’t say, “yes” fast enough! We love helping children be advocates.
We have several local city officials and celebrities reading Dino Manners at this event. McDonald’s will be providing light refreshments for all. Please join us!
