We have been Mo Willems fans for years. We have the pigeon series, Piggy & Gerald series, Edwina, and of course, Knuffle Bunny. Our children are now 6 and 9 and have somewhat outgrown reading them the traditional way.
The series went camping with us. They became the script for plays throughout the weekend. There were costumes, props, stuffed animals and OHHH those funny voices! Drama, comedy, tragedy – they had it all.
Sometimes favorite books can be loved over and over, just in a different way than originally planned. Be careful what you clean out from your children’s bookshelves. You never know when a full day adventure in acting and costume design will be inspired by an old friend from a shelf.
